K & K Equipment, Inc. has been serving Northern California counties since 1992. Founded by Coral and Don Kane, in Hayfork, CA. K & K Equipment, Inc. took off as a family owned and operated logging and road building company. However, in 1997 the Hayfork lumber mill shut down and the logging industry took a drastic hit. K & K Equipment, Inc. then stood idle until Don's son Jason Kane and Jason's wife, Shawna, took the business over in 2020. Jason and Shawna Kane along with their son, Wyatt and daughter, Sedar decided to take the original family business from logging to doing fuels reduction, brush mitigation and vegetation management projects to help protect towns, cities and homes from wildfire. 

Why this change from logging to protecting homes from wildfire?

Jason after serving as a Heavy Fire Equipment Operator for CAL FIRE for 22 years retiring in June 2022, saw a need for vegetation management and fuels reduction in Northern California.
